Role Description The Article Assistant will support audit and assurance engagements, primarily in the banking and financial services sector, under the guidance of senior team members. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in planning and executing bank audits, performing test checks, verifying documentation, preparing working papers, and compiling audit evidence. The role involves data analysis, review of compliance with regulatory and internal policies, drafting reports, and coordinating with client personnel to obtain information and clarifications.
The Article
Assistant will also help in tax, accounting, and compliance assignments as required, and maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with firm standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area.
Qualifications
- Enrollment as an articled/audit assistant (e.g., CA articleship) with a strong foundation in accounting, auditing, and basic taxation principles.
- Ability to work with financial statements, ledgers, and supporting documents, and to apply auditing procedures and sampling techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic accounting or audit software; comfort with handling and analyzing large data sets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and team members and to draft clear working papers and reports.
- Ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment, manage multiple assignments, and follow professional standards and confidentiality requirements.
- Team-oriented mindset, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback in a mentoring and training-focused environment.
- Knowledge or exposure to banking operations, regulatory guidelines, or risk and compliance work is an advantage.
- Relevant academic background (such as commerce, finance, or accounting) with valuable academic standing.
