Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Research, Instruction, and Scholarship, or her/his designee, the Student Engagement Research & Instruction Librarian is responsible for implementing library services directly aimed at supporting student success and providing general and in-depth research, reference, and instructional services in all areas of the law to the students, faculty and staff of the University of Connecticut School of Law and the University of Connecticut. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, strategic thinking, and adaptability, embracing change and helping to shape the future of library services through cutting-edge approaches and continuous improvement.

Duties And Responsibilities Include

• Develop and deliver programs, services, and events that promote and support student success, including but not limited to individual or group research consultations, training, outreach events, and library orientation.
• Coordinate strategic marketing of library services, resources, and spaces including managing the Law Library's blog, creating web content,



displays, digital signage, and other promotional materials.
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees who staff the library Information Desk.
• Serve as a liaison to student groups and student-edited publications.
• Assess student research needs and satisfaction with library services and solicit and evaluate recommendations for improvements through surveys, focus groups, and other assessment methods.
• Provide research and instructional support for day and evening division students, including course-integrated presentations, formal and informal legal information instruction, and similar activities.
• Contribute to faculty research service by conducting in-depth legal and interdisciplinary research, and preparing and creating bibliographies, literature reviews, memoranda, and other research deliverables.
