Job Description – Dean, School of Education

The Dean shall be the academic and administrative head of the School of Education and shall be responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of all teacher education programs in accordance with the norms of the National Council for Teacher Education, University Grants Commission, and the University.

Key Responsibilities:
• Academic Leadership
• Provide strategic leadership for B.Ed., M.Ed., Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP), and other education programmes.
• Ensure compliance with NCTE Regulations, UGC Regulations, NEP 2020, and other statutory requirements.
• Lead curriculum development, revision, and implementation.
• Promote innovative teaching-learning practices and educational research.
• Administration & Governance
• Manage academic, administrative, and financial affairs of the School.
• Prepare annual academic plans, budgets, and development proposals.
• Coordinate accreditation and regulatory inspections.




• Ensure maintenance of records required by NCTE and other regulatory bodies.
• Faculty Development
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members.
• Promote faculty research, publications, consultancy, and career development.
• Facilitate collaboration with schools, educational institutions, and government agencies.
• Research & Extension
• Promote research projects, funded studies, and publications in education.
• Organize conferences, workshops, FDPs, seminars, and outreach activities.
• Establish collaborations with national and international institutions.
• Student Development
• Monitor academic progress and professional development of students.
• Strengthen school internship, practice teaching, and placement activities.
• Ensure effective student mentoring and support systems.
• Quality Assurance
• Lead NAAC, NCTE, and other accreditation-related activities.
