- Technical Reviews & Validation: Conduct comprehensive technical reviews to ensure product definition, design verification, and validation are complete prior to launch.
- Machining & Tooling Expertise: Apply deep technical knowledge of CNC machines (Turning, Turn-mill, Milling, Mill-turn, EDMs). Evaluate, provide technical inputs, and approve modular aerospace fixture designs.
- Quality & Documentation: Manage, review, and approve FAIR & PPAP documentation ensuring on-time delivery. Maintain strict revision control of internal engineering documents and drive QMS compliance.
- Customer Integration: Interpret and seamlessly implement stringent manufacturing requirements for top-tier aerospace clients (e.g., Rolls-Royce, GE, Pratt & Whitney). Participate directly in customer/supplier meetings for technical issue resolution.
- Team Leadership: Lead, guide, and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers through NPI activities. (Note: The Asst. Manager/Dy. Manager level requires advanced strategic leadership and team management).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, NC Programming, and Fixturing teams to ensure smooth and successful NPI launches.
- Digital Engineering Tools: Effectively manage and utilize engineering digital tools and platforms, specifically PLM (Teamcenter) and MES.
- Continuous Improvement & Training: Standardize best manufacturing practices across the plant, conduct internal audits for process compliance, and train internal teams.
- Special Processes Integration: Apply working knowledge of special aerospace processes, including Wire cut, Welding, NDT, Metal Spray, Plating, and Painting.
Preferred candidate profile
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience Level: 710 years for Advanced Engineer / Asst. Manager; 1015 years for Asst. Manager / Dy. Manager.
- Industry Background: Proven track record in Aerospace manufacturing, Aviation, or high-precision engineering environments.
- Core Technical Skills: Strong expertise in NPI lifecycle, CNC machining methodologies, GD&T;, PFMEA, PPAP, and FAIR execution.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with PLM systems (specifically Teamcenter), MES, and modern manufacturing engineering software.
- Client Familiarity: Prior experience handling components, standards, and compliance for major aerospace OEMs (Rolls-Royce, GE, Pratt & Whitney) is highly advantageous.
- Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex shop-floor technical challenges, guide junior engineers, and drive a culture of first-time quality.
