Role Description The Accountant role at Paragon Footwear is a full-time, on-site position based in Kottayam. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, reconciling bank and vendor accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely entry of sales, purchase, and inventory data. The Accountant prepares financial statements, supports budgeting and forecasting, assists with tax computations and statutory filings, and helps ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
The role also includes coordinating with internal departments and external auditors, monitoring payables and receivables, and supporting management with financial reports and analysis for decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial accounting and reporting, including ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports.
- Proficiency in taxation and compliance, such as GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements relevant to manufacturing and distribution.
- Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and inventory accounting to support factory and supply chain operations.
- Working knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance teams, operations, and external auditors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or large-scale distribution environments is preferred.
