Company Description Alpha Angels Animal Trust (also known as Angels for Animals) is a women-led animal welfare organization based in Goa, India, focused on humane, sustainable care for street animals. The team works across rescue, medical treatment, sterilization, and community engagement to reduce animal suffering and improve coexistence with humans. Since 2021, the organization has treated and sterilized thousands of animals, built a dedicated treatment center with diagnostic and surgical facilities, and launched Surakshit Goa, a flagship campaign to reduce animal-human conflict through education and targeted sterilization.

Trust aims to address root causes such as overpopulation, limited awareness, and fear, while maintaining lean, community-integrated operations. The organization is now developing Goa’s first 24/7 hospital for street animals, with a vision to create a replicable model for humane animal care across India.

Role Description This is a full-time, in office Accountant role based in Bardez, Goa. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. The role involves preparing monthly and annual financial statements, assisting with budgeting and cash flow planning, and ensuring accurate documentation of donations, grants, and project-related expenses.

The Accountant will support compliance with local regulations,



tax requirements, and reporting obligations for a non-profit entity, maintaining clear records for audits and stakeholder reporting. The position also includes collaborating with program and operations teams to track costs, monitor project budgets, and provide timely financial insights that help the organization plan and sustain its animal welfare initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in accounting and finance, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, including data entry, report generation, and basic financial analysis.
- Knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements relevant to non-profit or charitable organizations.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with program, operations, and leadership teams.
- Ability to work on-site in Bardez, manage multiple tasks, and meet reporting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in non-profit, social impact, or healthcare settings is beneficial, as is a demonstrated commitment to animal welfare.
