HIRING: ACADEMIC COUNSELLOR

Location: YMCA Cross Road, Calicut

Salary: ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a motivated and confident Academic Counsellor to join our team. The role involves counselling students and parents regarding our academic and skill development programmes, understanding their requirements, explaining course details, and supporting students throughout the admission process.

This is a good opportunity for freshers who are interested in education, student counselling, admissions and communication-based roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Counsel students and parents regarding available courses, eligibility, duration, fees and career opportunities.
- Understand students' educational background, interests and requirements and suggest relevant programmes.
- Handle enquiries received through phone calls, walk-ins, WhatsApp and other communication channels.
- Follow up with prospective students and guide them through the admission process.
- Explain programme structure, course benefits, training process, examinations and certification details clearly.
- Maintain proper records of student enquiries, follow-ups and admissions.
- Coordinate with the academic and administration teams regarding student admissions and programme schedules.
- Achieve assigned admission and follow-up targets through systematic counselling and communication.
- Maintain regular follow-up with prospective students until the admission process is completed.
- Assist in organising student orientation, counselling sessions and promotional activities when required.




- Provide accurate information to students and parents and maintain professional communication at all times.
- Prepare basic daily and weekly reports related to enquiries, follow-ups and admissions.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident and professional approach when interacting with students and parents.
- Good listening and counselling skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word, Excel, email and WhatsApp.
- Valuable follow-up and organisational skills.
- Ability to explain information clearly and patiently.
- Target-oriented and willing to take responsibility for achieving assigned goals.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

ELIGIBILITY
- Qualification: Plus Two / Diploma / Any Degree.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with experience in academic counselling, education, admissions, customer service or telecalling will have an advantage.
- Good Malayalam and English communication skills are preferred.
