Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced 2nd Class Boiler Attendant to operate and monitor boiler and associated utility equipment at the IOCL Vadodara site. The candidate will be responsible for safe and efficient boiler operation, monitoring operating parameters, maintaining operational records, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor the boiler and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain required steam pressure, temperature, water level, and other operating parameters.
- Carry out boiler start-up, shutdown, and changeover activities as per approved SOPs.
- Regularly inspect boiler equipment, valves, pumps, gauges, safety devices, and associated systems.
- Monitor boiler feed water, fuel supply, and other operating conditions.
- Identify abnormal conditions, leakages, pressure fluctuations, and equipment issues and report them promptly.
- Maintain accurate boiler logbooks, operating records, and shift reports.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team during breakdowns, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions in the boiler/utility area.
- Strictly follow PPE, Permit-to-Work, LOTO, fire safety, and site safety procedures.




- Ensure boiler operations are carried out in accordance with applicable statutory requirements and site procedures.
- Immediately communicate any unsafe condition, equipment abnormality, or emergency to the concerned supervisor.
- Support periodic inspection, testing, and maintenance of boiler-related equipment as required.

Qualification & Eligibility
- 2nd Class Boiler Attendant Certificate / Competency Certificate – Mandatory.
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant technical qualification will be preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial boiler operation preferred.
- Experience in refinery, petrochemical, manufacturing, power, utility, or process industry will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of boiler operation, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
- Valuable understanding of industrial safety practices and operational discipline.

Preferred Candidate Profile Candidates having valid 2nd Class Boiler Attendant certification and hands-on experience operating industrial boilers in large-scale industrial or process plants will be preferred.
