Role Summary

As a Data Scientist III, you will apply advanced analytical and modeling techniques to translate complex business challenges into data-driven solutions. This role requires expertise in data sourcing, exploratory analysis, and model development using programming languages such as Python. You will support the deployment and scalability of analytical models while collaborating cross-functionally to align insights with business objectives. The position demands a strong understanding of industry practices, data quality, and visualization to effectively communicate findings and drive informed decision-making within a dynamic setting.

About The Team

The Energy and Real Estate data science team at Walmart is focused on using the latest research in machine learning, statistics and optimization to solve business problems in energy management, facilities operations, real estate site selection and overall property portfolio strategy. We build models to empower decision-making,



work with engineers to build reference architectures and machine learning pipelines in a big data ecosystem. Advanced analytical algorithms driven by our team help Walmart optimize energy consumption, real estate investments and business practices, reduce cost and pass those benefits to our customers. The data science and ML Engineering community at Walmart is active in most of the Hack events, utilizing the petabytes of data at our disposal, to build some of the coolest ideas. Our team is also at the forefront of building intelligent agents and working with the cutting-edge data science tech stack, including LLM-powered automation and agentic workflows, to push innovation even further. All the work we do at Walmart will eventually benefit our operations & our associates, helping Customers Save Money to Live Better.
