Role Overview

We're looking for a Credit Analyst with solid functional expertise in credit underwriting to work closely with our product development team. This is not a traditional underwriting desk role you'll act as the functional/domain expert embedded with engineers, product managers, and business analysts to help design, validate, and refine a credit underwriting product. Your job is to translate real-world underwriting practices, policies, and edge cases into product requirements and logic the team can build.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on credit underwriting for the product development team, bridging the gap between business/functional needs and technical implementation
- Define and document underwriting workflows,



credit assessment criteria, scoring logic, and decisioning rules to be built into the product
- Review credit policies, RBI/regulatory guidelines, and industry underwriting standards, and translate them into functional specifications
- Work with product managers and business analysts to create user stories, process flows, and business requirement documents (BRDs) related to underwriting
- Validate system outputs, test underwriting logic/rules engines, and identify gaps or inconsistencies versus real-world lending practice
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by designing test cases based on real credit scenarios (income assessment, risk scoring, collateral evaluation, financial ratio analysis, etc.)
- Provide inputs on credit risk parameters financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, credit bureau data (CIBIL/Experian/Equifax), ratio analysis, banking behavior, etc.
