About the role
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across multiple teams, shaping the engineering strategy for solving high-priority, business critical problems at scale. You will define the technical vision, address complex cross cutting challenges and maintain architectural coherence across the platform. You will raise engineering standards across the organisation, influence product and technology strategy, and enable teams to deliver secure, scalable and high-quality solutions efficiently. The role requires you to identify systemic opportunities, lead improvements to engineering practices and take accountability for technical outcomes that deliver measurable business value.
Who you will work with
This role sits within Finance Technology and works closely with data, AI and software engineers, product managers, architects, cyber, platform teams and business stakeholders. You will also partner with central Technology and Architecture teams to ensure solutions are reusable,
interoperable and scalable, rather than developed in isolation.
Key responsibilities
- Technical vision and strategy: Define and drive the technical vision and architecture across multiple teams and domains, ensuring engineering priorities remain aligned with business objectives. Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations that shape the organisation’s long-term technical direction.
- Backend and API development: Architect and guide the development of scalable backend services using C#, .NET Core and Python. Establish standards and patterns for performance, resilience, security and maintainability that can be adopted across teams.
- Frontend development: Set the direction for frontend architecture using React.js, Next.js and Node.js. Define scalable and maintainable patterns for component architecture, state management, performance and user experience.
