Role Description The Laptop Chip Level Engineer is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai/Bangalore/Pune/Mumbai/Hyderabad/Kolkata. This position involves diagnosing and repairing laptops at the motherboard and chip level, including component-level troubleshooting, soldering, and replacement of ICs and other electronic parts. The engineer will perform systematic fault analysis,



use diagnostic tools and schematics to identify hardware issues, and ensure timely, high-quality repairs. Daily tasks include testing and validating repaired systems, maintaining service records, coordinating with front-office staff for customer updates, and adhering to safety and ESD procedures. The role may also involve advising on parts requirements, supporting junior technicians, and contributing to continuous improvement of service processes.
Qualifications
• Strong chip-level hardware troubleshooting skills for laptop motherboards, including diagnosis of power, display, and connectivity issues.
• Proficiency in soldering and rework techniques, including use of hot air stations, BGA rework equipment, and precision tools for component replacement.
