Associate Professor of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (Fixed-Term, 4 Years)

The University seeks to appoint an associate professor to Biotech Research and Innovation Center (BRIC) to commence as soon as possible.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have expertise in molecular and cellular mechanisms of brain development and neuropsychiatric disorders, with particular focus on identifying pathological mechanisms in neurodevelopmental disorders. You will conduct as well as supervise research on how neuronal circuitry is affected in brain disorders in animal models. For this you will implement advanced approaches such as single-cell transcriptomics together with in vivo circuit manipulation and other functional analysis to validate readouts.

The Associate Professor’s Responsibilities Will Primarily Consist Of

• Research, including publication/academic dissemination




• Research-based teaching, including associated examination
• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
• Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
• Academic assessments

Required Qualifications

Furthermore, Each Applicant Must Be Able To Document

• Solid research profile within neurodevelopment, and neuropsychiatric disease mechanisms, including publications in leading journals in senior roles.
• Ability to derive strong mechanistic insights linking defined neuron types with behavioural impairments in mouse m
