JOB DESCRIPTION – SALES EXECUTIVE

Fashion Retail

Position: Sales Executive / Fashion Consultant
Department: Retail Sales
Industry: Fashion & Apparel
Reporting To: Store Manager / Department Manager
Location: Store / Retail Outlet

Job Purpose

To drive store sales by providing excellent customer service, understanding customer needs, promoting products, and ensuring high standards of visual merchandising and store operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Performance

- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Drive sales through effective customer engagement and product selling.
- Achieve individual KPIs such as conversion, average bill value, units per transaction, and productivity.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through cross-selling and upselling.
- Actively contribute to achieving overall store targets.

2. Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers professionally.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products.
- Provide product information regarding fabric, fit, size, styling, offers, and pricing.
- Ensure a positive and personalized shopping experience.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and escalate issues when required.
- Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat visits.

3. Product Knowledge
- Maintain complete knowledge of the brand, products, collections, fabrics, sizes, prices, and ongoing promotions.
- Stay updated on new arrivals, seasonal collections, offers, and product launches.
- Demonstrate products effectively to customers.

4. Store Operations
- Maintain proper product availability and replenishment on the sales floor.
- Ensure merchandise is properly folded, arranged, tagged, and displayed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, trial rooms, and customer areas.
- Follow store SOPs, billing procedures, stock handling, and security guidelines.
- Support stock receiving,



replenishment, stock counts, and inventory activities as required.

5. Visual Merchandising
- Maintain brand-standard product presentation.
- Ensure fixtures, shelves, tables, mannequins, and displays are properly maintained.
- Support VM changes as per brand guidelines and seasonal requirements.
- Ensure products are displayed according to size, category, colour, and collection.

6. Teamwork & Discipline
- Work effectively with Store Managers and team members to achieve store objectives.
- Maintain punctuality, grooming, discipline, and professional behaviour.
- Ensure proper attendance and availability on the sales floor during business hours.
- Participate in store meetings, training programs, and product knowledge sessions.
- Follow company policies and operational procedures.

Qualification & Experience

Education: 12th Pass / Graduate preferred.

Experience: 0–3 years of experience in fashion, apparel, lifestyle, footwear, beauty, or other retail sales. Freshers with strong communication and customer-handling skills may also be considered.
