Role: Business Analyst

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders, clients, and end-users to understand their needs and objectives.
Elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements for GIS projects.
Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather essential information.
Analyze geological data and GIS-related information to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Create data models and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
Translate data findings into actionable recommendations.
Evaluate existing business processes and workflows related to GIS.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
Create detailed functional specifications and user stories for GIS software development.
Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate developed solutions.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Communicate project status, risks,



and issues to ensure transparency and alignment.
Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather feedback and resolve conflicts.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test plans.

Desired Skills:
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Geology Information System (GIS) domain.
Must have used UML to deliver approach and use case scenarios.
Solid understanding of geological data, geospatial tools, and GIS software.
Proficiency in data analysis and modeling using tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team workplace.
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
Experience with GIS software platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
Knowledge of geospatial data formats and standards (e.g., Shapefiles, GeoJSON, WMS).
