Knowledge and practical skills in wound assessment and appropriate dressing selection.
Proper preparation of the wound and maintenance of aseptic technique during dressing procedures.
Application of surgical dressings to protect wounds from contamination and external trauma.
Selection and application of appropriate advanced wound care products based on wound condition.
Secure fixation of dressings while ensuring patient comfort and skin protection.
Monitoring the wound for signs of infection, exudate, bleeding, skin irritation, and delayed healing.
Proper removal and replacement of dressings while minimizing trauma to the wound and surrounding skin.
Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices during wound care.
Appropriate documentation of wound condition, dressing procedure, and patient response.
