Role & responsibilities
Lead the GSTR-2B vs. books / purchase register reconciliation for multiple entities.
Review and analyse unmatched, missing, duplicate and ineligible ITC.
Prepare and maintain ITC mismatch trackers with clear action points and ageing.
Identify differences arising due to vendor filing, amendments, credit/debit notes, timing differences and accounting issues.
Coordinate with client finance teams and vendors for resolution of reconciliation differences.
Review GST input ledgers and ensure appropriate classification and eligibility of ITC.
Support the team in determining ITC eligible for claim, to be deferred, or requiring reversal.
Ensure reconciliation is completed before finalisation of GST returns / monthly compliance.
Review GST workings and reconciliation reports prepared by team members.
Monitor monthly closure timelines and ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
Develop and improve reconciliation processes using Excel, automation tools and GST technology platforms.
Assist in GST audits, departmental queries, assessments and other indirect tax assignments,
wherever required.
Train and mentor junior team members on GST reconciliation and issue resolution.
Maintain proper documentation and audit trail for reconciliation and management review.
Preferred candidate profile
CA / CA Inter / CMA / B.Com / M.Com with relevant GST experience.
25 years of experience in GST, tax consultancy, accounting or CA firm environment.
Solid practical knowledge of GSTR-2B, GSTR-2A, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and ITC provisions.
Strong understanding of purchase accounting and GST treatment.
Excellent Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and data analysis.
Experience with GST reconciliation tools / ERP systems will be an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to independently interact with clients.
Ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables simultaneously.
