Functional Safety Engineer responsible for end to end Functional Safety activities across system and component levels, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 while coordinating with global stakeholders and suppliers.
Description The Functional Safety Engineer will play a key role in ensuring safety compliance of automotive systems and components throughout the development lifecycle.
The role spans systemlevel and componentlevel Functional Safety working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and global stakeholders.
This position requires robust technical expertise, independent ownership of safety work products, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Germany, USA, and India.
Responsibilities
Functional Safety System Level
Own and drive the endtoend Functional Safety Vcycle at system and vehicle level
Perform Item Definition, Impact Analysis, HARA, FSC, and TSC
Perform Safety analysis like FTA, DFA, DFMEA
Develop and maintain safety case arguments and ensure assessment readiness
Drive system safety validation and verification
Coordinate Functional Safety activities across multiple ECUs and suppliers
Functional Safety Component Level
Own componentlevel Functional Safety work products (HW/SW)
Support component verification, testing concepts, and anomaly analysis
Ensure safety requirement traceability
Support or participate in supplier reviews and audits
Qualifications Mandatory Skills & Experience
Solid experience in ISO 26262 (system, vehicle, HW/SW, component,production and operation level)
Handson expertise in
HARA, DFA, FTA
FSC / TSC creation
Safety case development and argumentation
Positive understanding of vehicle E/E architecture
Good understanding in AUTOSAR, Embedded systems, System Engineering
Experience in supplier coordination and technical reviews
Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Body Control Domain
Experience working in global, multistakeholder environments
