With a strong global engineering presence and a focus on innovation, sustainability and advanced mobility solutions, this is an opportunity to work on technologies that contribute to the safety, performance and customer experience of next-generation vehicles.Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Anti-Pinch Algorithm Development Engineer to design, implement, calibrate and validate obstacle-detection and pinch-protection algorithms for automotive window regulator, sunroof and power-closure systems. The role involves end-to-end ownership of the algorithm lifecycle, from requirements analysis and mathematical modelling through embedded implementation, calibration, system integration, compliance testing and production support.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop anti-pinch and obstruction detection algorithms for automotive powered closure systems.Develop model-based and sensor-fusion solutions using motor, position and sensor data.Create simulation models, control logic and adaptive algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.Develop mathematical and physical models of DC/BLDC motors, gearboxes, transmission mechanisms, closure dynamics, latches, cinching systems, seals, friction, gravity loads and mechanical losses.Perform calibration, optimization and verification through MIL, SIL,
HIL and vehicle testing.Improve algorithm robustness across environmental variations, ageing effects and manufacturing tolerances.Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, mechanical and validation teams.Support customer engagements, technical reviews and compliance activities related to ISO 26262 and ASPICE.Mentor team members and contribute to reusable algorithm platforms and engineering standards.Education & ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Control Systems, Signal Processing or a related field.8+ years of automotive engineering experience.5+ years of hands-on experience in anti-pinch algorithm development.Required Technical SkillsCapability Expected Proficiency Motor and actuator systems Robust knowledge of DC motor control, BLDC motor fundamentals, power-closure systems, and actuator dynamics and characterization. Sensors and estimation Hands-on experience with Hall-effect sensors, encoders, motor-current sensing, and force and position sensing technologies. Signal processing Strong knowledge of DSP, time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, adaptive filtering, estimation and prediction algorithms, sensor conditioning, digital filtering, noise rejection, and fault detection. Control systems Closed-loop control, motor-control fundamentals, state-machine design, control theory, and system dynamics.
Modelling and tools Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, system modelling, control theory, signal processing, and data-analysis and debugging tools. Programming Experience in C/C++, Python, or embedded software development. Compliance Experience developing anti-pinch systems compliant with FMVSS and ECE requirements, with awareness of ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE.
