The Production Manager is responsible for production planning and execution, resource optimization, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and development of production teams to meet customer requirements and business goals.Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution· Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.· Ensure production targets are achieved· Monitor capacity utilization and optimize machine loading.· Coordinate with Production Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Stores, and Supply Chain.· Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.2. Operational Excellence· Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement.· Improve machine utilization and reduce downtime.· Improve productivity through Lean Manufacturing techniques.· Standardize best manufacturing practices across shifts.3. Quality Management· Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems· Review rejection, rework, and customer complaints.· Lead root cause analysis for major quality issues.· Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).· Drive First Time Right (FTR) improvement.4. Safety & Compliance· Ensure compliance with all statutory and company safety requirements.· Promote a Zero Accident culture.· Conduct regular safety reviews and audits.· Ensure implementation of risk assessments and corrective actions.· Monitor PPE compliance and secure work practices.5. Cost Management· Control manufacturing costs and monitor budget performance.· Optimize tooling, consumables, and energy usage.· Reduce scrap, rework, and machine idle time.· Improve Operator productivity.· Identify and implement cost reduction projects.6. People Management· Lead, coach,



and develop Production Supervisors and Engineers.· Build competency of Setters and Operators through structured training.· Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.· Foster teamwork, employee engagement, and a culture of accountability.· Manage manpower planning and workforce deployment.7. Maintenance Coordination· Work closely with Maintenance to improve machine availability.· Ensure effective implementation of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.· Review breakdown trends and corrective actions.· Support TPM implementation.8. Continuous Improvement· Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.· Promote Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management, and Standard Work.· Drive Value Stream Mapping (VSM) projects.· Improve workflow, plant layout, and productivity.· Benchmark and implement best manufacturing practices.9. Inventory & Material Management· Minimize Work-in-Progress (WIP).· Improve inventory turnover.· Coordinate with Stores and Procurement for tooling and consumables.10.
