Role Purpose
To win projects by combining solid technical command of electrical, lighting facade systems, surveillance systems, networking and automation related projects with polished client-facing skills. This is a design-led sales role: the person will personally present design concepts and technical solutions to clients and consultants, defend the technical merit of proposals under questioning, and negotiate commercial terms to close orders across government, semi-government, municipal, and private-sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end BD cycle for the projects lead generation, client engagement, technical presentation, proposal development, negotiation, and closure.
- Present design concepts directly to clients, architects, consultants, and government officials — confidently explaining design intent, technical specifications, energy performance, and compliance with codes/standards.
- Work closely with the design/technical team to translate client requirements into compelling, technically sound proposals, drawings, and mock-ups for lighting and facade solutions.
- Handle detailed technical queries independently in client and consultant meetings — luminaire specifications, lux levels, energy efficiency, facade lighting integration, control systems, IS/BIS and other applicable standards — without always relying on back-office technical support.
- Build and manage relationships across three distinct client segments: government departments, semi-government/municipal bodies including BMC, and private developers, architects, and corporates.
- Identify and track tenders, RFPs, and private project opportunities relevant to lighting and facade works; manage the qualification, documentation, and bid submission process for public-sector tenders.
- Lead commercial negotiations — pricing, scope, payment terms, and contract conditions — balancing competitiveness with margin protection.
- Coordinate with design, execution, procurement,
and finance teams to ensure proposals are deliverable and that won projects transition smoothly into execution.
- Represent the company at client presentations, design pitches, industry events, and exhibitions, positioning the company as a technically credible lighting partner.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging lighting/facade technologies to keep proposals current and differentiated.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, opportunity, and account records in CRM; provide regular forecasts and reports to management.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory); additional exposure to facade/architectural lighting design is a strong plus.
- 6–15 years of experience in business development or technical sales within electrical, lighting, or facade industries, with a track record of presenting to and winning business from architects, consultants, and government clients.
- Excellent technical command of lighting design fundamentals (lux levels, luminaire types, controls, energy efficiency) and facade systems (ACP, glazing, structural glazing, facade lighting integration).
- Proven ability to present and defend technical designs confidently in front of clients, architects, and government officials — strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of government procurement/tendering processes (GeM, e-tendering, EMD/BG norms) as well as private-sector project sales cycles.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Marathi, Hindi, and English.
- Comfortable using design/visual tools (PowerPoint, basic familiarity with AutoCAD/rendering outputs) to support client presentations.
- Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, site visits, and presentations.

- Client and consultant relationship management (govt, semi-govt, private)
