Accountant – Insurance / Insurance Broking

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in the insurance/financial services domain.

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, GST/TDS compliance, invoicing, accounts payable and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Record daily sales, purchase, payment and receipt transactions.
- Maintain and update bank accounts and accounting records.
- Generate invoices and challans.
- Handle accounts payable and perform regular reconciliations.
- Prepare bank, insurer and distributor account reconciliations.
- Prepare GST data and support/file GST returns.
- Calculate, deduct and deposit TDS as per applicable requirements.
- Prepare quarterly TDS returns and Form 16/16A.
- Track and record monthly expenses.
- Prepare weekly/monthly accounting and MIS reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Use Excel for financial analysis, data validation, Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of accounting activities.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting,



Finance or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Tally ERP.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Experience in GST and TDS.
- Hands-on experience in bank reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounting activities and meet deadlines.
- Insurance / Insurance Broking experience is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with experience in Insurance, Insurance Broking, Financial Services or Accounting/Auditing, along with hands-on accounting and reconciliation experience, will be preferred.
