Job Description

We are looking for a QC Engineer – Fabrication to ensure fabrication activities meet approved drawings, project specifications, WPS/PQR, ITP, applicable codes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect incoming materials, MTCs, grades, sizes, and heat numbers.
- Review drawings, specifications, ITP, WPS, and quality requirements.
- Conduct fit-up and welding inspections.
- Verify weld quality, dimensions, alignment, weld profiles, and welding parameters.
- Monitor consumable control, preheating, and interpass temperature where applicable.
- Coordinate RT, UT, MT, and PT inspections with NDT agencies.
- Conduct dimensional inspections and verify fabrication tolerances.
- Identify NCRs and coordinate corrective actions, rectification, and re-inspection.
- Maintain inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, NDT reports, and quality records.
- Ensure material and component identification and traceability.
- Conduct final inspection before painting, dispatch, or erection.
- Verify surface preparation and painting/coating requirements where applicable.
- Coordinate with client/consultant inspectors for inspection and approval.
- Support preparation of MTC, WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQT, NDT, inspection, and final quality dossiers.
- Monitor fabrication defects, rework, and quality performance.




- Ensure inspection and measuring instruments are properly calibrated.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of fabrication and welding inspection.
- Ability to read fabrication, GA, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of welding symbols and weld joint types.
- Good knowledge of WPS, PQR, and welder qualification requirements.
- Knowledge of NDT methods – RT, UT, MT, and PT.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspection, tolerances, and material traceability.
- Familiarity with applicable fabrication codes and standards.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and QC documentation.
- Solid attention to detail and good communication skills.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in fabrication quality control.
- Experience in structural steel, piping, PEB, pressure equipment, or industrial fabrication is an advantage.
- CSWIP / AWS / NDT Level-II certification will be an advantage.
