ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES – CALIBRATION ENGINEERPosition

Calibration Engineer – Field / On-Site Calibration

Job Overview

The Calibration Engineer will be responsible for carrying out on-site calibration of measuring and test instruments at client locations across India, in accordance with the applicable Scope of Work (SOW), purchase orders, tender requirements, applicable standards, and the company’s calibration procedures.

The role primarily involves working at PSUs, government organizations, industrial plants, laboratories, and other client sites, with extensive travel across India.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- In office Calibration
- Visit client sites anywhere in India as required for calibration assignments.
- Carry out calibration of instruments and equipment as per the approved Scope of Work, work order, PO, tender requirements, and applicable procedures.
- Perform calibration using appropriate reference standards and equipment.
- Ensure proper handling, identification, and traceability of instruments and reference standards.
- Calibration Procedures & Standards
- Perform calibration in accordance with approved calibration methods, applicable standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer requirements.
- Follow the laboratory/company's quality procedures and technical instructions.
- Record all required observations, measurements, environmental conditions, and calibration results accurately.
- Ensure calibration activities are performed within the required accuracy and specified tolerances.
- Client / PSU Site Coordination
- Coordinate with client representatives, site engineers, maintenance personnel, and authorized officials.
- Understand site requirements and complete assigned calibration activities within the agreed schedule.
- Obtain necessary site permissions, equipment details, work completion confirmation, and client acknowledgement.
- Maintain skilled conduct while working at PSU and government premises.
- Reports & Documentation




- Prepare and submit required calibration reports, observation sheets, worksheets, and calibration certificates.
- Ensure all technical data and instrument identification details are correctly recorded.
- Maintain complete documentation and traceability of calibration activities.
- Submit site reports and supporting documents within the stipulated timeline.
- Instrument Handling
- Inspect instruments before calibration and report any damage, malfunction, or abnormal condition.
- Handle client instruments and reference standards carefully during transportation and calibration.
- Ensure proper packing, transportation, installation, and removal of calibration equipment where applicable.
- Travel & Field Work
- Be willing to travel extensively across India for customer assignments.
- Travel to different cities, industrial locations, PSU facilities, power plants, manufacturing units, laboratories, and government establishments.
- Stay at project/client locations for the duration required to complete the assignment.
- Plan travel and site activities according to project schedules and customer requirements.
- Quality & Compliance
- Follow company quality management procedures and applicable calibration requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and technical data.
- Immediately report deviations, technical issues, equipment problems, or non-conformities to the reporting manager.
- Ensure calibration records are complete, accurate, legible, and traceable.
- Safety & Site Discipline
- Follow all applicable client/PSU site safety rules and procedures.




- Use required PPE and follow safety instructions while working at industrial and plant locations.
- Maintain safe working practices while handling electrical, mechanical, electronic, pressure, temperature, or other test equipment.
- Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers and resolve routine technical/site-related queries.
- Explain calibration procedures and results to the client when required.
- Maintain a professional relationship with customers and represent the company appropriately at all sites.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Support technical teams in installation, inspection, testing, and verification activities where required and within the engineer's competence.
- Maintain records of completed assignments and pending calibration activities.
- Assist in preparing quotations, technical submissions, or calibration-related documentation when required.
- Perform other calibration-related duties assigned by the management.

Essential Requirements

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in calibration, testing, instrumentation, measurement, or field service will be preferred.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and calibration procedures.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, calibration requirements, and Scope of Work.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout India.
- Ability to work independently at customer/PSU sites.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.
- Valid driving licence will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹9,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
