About the Role

Sterling & Wilson Datacenter Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and engineering of electrical systems for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.

The role will involve developing electrical designs, performing engineering calculations, preparing technical deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, consultants and project execution teams, and providing technical support during construction and commissioning.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Electrical Design, Power Distribution, SLDs, Load Calculations, Transformer & DG Systems, UPS, Switchgear, Cable Sizing, Protection, Earthing and Lighting Design.

Key Responsibilities1. Electrical System Design

- Prepare electrical system designs and engineering calculations.
- Develop and review:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Power distribution layouts
- Lighting layouts
- Cable schedules
- Earthing and lightning protection designs
- Control schematics
- DB schedules and wiring diagrams
- Perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing.
- Design and review HV/LV electrical distribution systems.

2. Engineering Calculations & Analysis

Perform and review:

- Electrical load calculations
- Load flow studies
- Short-circuit calculations
- Voltage drop calculations
- Cable sizing calculations
- Protection coordination studies
- Equipment sizing
- Arc flash analysis, wherever applicable

3. Electrical Equipment Design

Work on the engineering and design of:

- Transformers
- DG / Generator Systems
- HT/LT Switchgear
- PCC / MCC
- UPS Systems
- Battery Systems
- Distribution Boards
- Cables
- Cable Trays
- Protection Relays
- Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems
- Lighting Systems

4. Engineering Deliverables

Prepare, review and maintain:

- Electrical drawings
- Single Line Diagrams
- Equipment specifications
- Technical datasheets
- Material Requisitions
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Cable schedules
- DB schedules




- Technical reports
- Design calculations
- Engineering documentation
- Revision control

5. Codes & Standards

Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable:

- IEC Standards
- IEEE Standards
- NEC
- NFPA
- IS Standards
- Local electrical regulations
- Client specifications
- Project-specific engineering standards

6. Multidisciplinary Coordination

Coordinate with:

- Mechanical / HVAC teams
- Civil & Structural teams
- ELV / ICT teams
- Instrumentation / Controls teams
- BIM teams
- Project Managers
- Construction / Site Execution teams

Resolve electrical design interfaces and ensure coordinated project deliverables.

7. Vendor & Technical Coordination

- Review vendor quotations and technical offers.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations.
- Review vendor drawings and technical documents.
- Evaluate electrical equipment specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications.

8. Construction & Site Support

- Provide technical support during installation and execution.
- Respond to site queries and RFIs.
- Resolve field engineering and design-related issues.
- Review site modifications and technical change requests.
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure design intent is maintained.

9. Testing & Commissioning Support

- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Provide engineering support during testing and commissioning.
- Assist commissioning teams during startup and energization.
- Verify installed systems against approved design requirements.

10. Quality & Safety

- Follow engineering quality procedures.
- Identify and address electrical design risks.
- Ensure designs support safe operation and maintenance.
- Participate in design reviews, safety reviews and technical audits.

Data Center / Mission Critical electrical design experience will be highly preferred, particularly exposure to critical power infrastructure, redundancy, HV/LV distribution, DGs, UPS systems, transformers, switchgear and protection systems.

Candidate Profile

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–10 years of relevant Electrical Design & Engineering experience.
- Robust hands-on experience in electrical design and engineering calculations.
- Good knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical equipment.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing electrical drawings and technical deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Good coordination skills with clients, consultants, vendors and execution teams.
- Data Center / Mission Critical experience will be an added advantage.
