Job Title: Production Supervisor

Department: Production
Reporting To: General Manager

Role Purpose

To supervise and control the complete copper scrap processing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-focused production from copper scrap receipt through crushing, segregation, washing, drying, and quality inspection while achieving daily production targets.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Production Operations Supervision

- Supervise daily production activities across all processing stages.
- Ensure smooth execution of copper scrap processing as per production plans.
- Monitor workflow and optimize machine utilization.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within planned timelines.

2. Copper Scrap Processing Control

- Supervise Copper Scrap Crushing and Material Size Reduction activities.
- Monitor Copper Segregation and Sorting operations to ensure material purity.
- Control Wet Crushing and Water Washing processes for effective contaminant removal.
- Supervise Drying operations to achieve required moisture levels.
- Ensure processed material is transferred to the next stage without delays.

3. Quality & Process Control

- Coordinate with Quality Team for inspection and testing.
- Ensure processed copper meets specified purity and quality standards.
- Identify process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Minimize material loss, contamination, and rework.

4. Manpower Management

- Plan and allocate manpower for each production stage.
- Monitor operator performance and work discipline.
- Ensure proper shift handover and workforce coordination.
- Train operators on process requirements and safety practices.

Production Monitoring & Reporting

- Maintain daily production reports and shift records.
- Track productivity, yield, recovery percentage, and downtime.
- Report production issues and improvement opportunities to management.
- Monitor consumption of utilities and production resources.

6. Safety & Housekeeping

- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Promote safe handling of machinery and materials.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and positive housekeeping standards.
- Report and investigate safety incidents or near misses.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with Quality for inspections and approvals.
- Coordinate with Stores for raw material availability and finished material movement.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in metal recycling, copper processing, foundry, smelting, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience in supervising production teams and shop-floor activities.
