Job Description: Food & Beverage (F&B;) Captain

Position Summary: The F&B; Captain is responsible for overseeing and managing the service in a restaurant or banquet event, ensuring that guests receive exceptional dining experiences. This role involves supervising service staff, coordinating with the kitchen, and maintaining high standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome guests promptly in a warm and friendly manner.
- Assist guests with table reservations and seating.
- Ensure guests are serviced within the specified time.
- Possess a good knowledge of the menu and presentation standards.
- Speak with guests and staff using clear and qualified language.
- Anticipate and address any unexpected guest needs promptly and tactfully.
- Apply service techniques correctly at all times, serving food and beverage items with enthusiasm.
- Set tables according to the type of event and service standards.
- Record transactions/orders in Point of Sales systems at the time of order.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, and product availability.




- Check with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverage.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china glass, etc., throughout the shift.
- Ensure that the restaurant is always kept clean and organized, both at the front and back of house areas.
- Handle daily team member relations and encourage problem-solving by team members through proper training and empowerment (Hotel and Restaurant Academy).

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or related field/ Experience in same domain & sector/ High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of work experience in Food & Beverage, with at least 1 year in a Captain position or similar role.
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
- Excellent guest service skills.
