Senior Manager - Finance for a 150-bed multi-specialty hospital, Virudhunagar
Overview
Aruna Children Hospital Group (‘Aruna Hospital’) is embarking on an exciting venture—an upcoming 150-bedded state-of-the-art multi-specialty hospital on the Virudhunagar–Sattur Highway, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. Our goal is to deliver world-class treatment tailored to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the Virudhunagar region.
Spanning approximately 1 lakh sq. ft across the hospital and hostel blocks, Aruna Hospital is envisioned as a Centre of Excellence for key specialities such as trauma care, cardiac care, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, dialysis and more.
Location: Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu (on-site)
Key Responsibilities
Finance Set-up and Pre-Commissioning
- Set up the hospital finance function, including chart of accounts, cost centres, financial SOPs, approval matrix, banking, and statutory registrations.
- Implement and integrate accounting, billing, pharmacy, inventory, and HIS systems with the IT/HIS team.
- Prepare and monitor the pre-opening budget, project and equipment expenditure, vendor payments, cash flow, and financial reporting to promoters/lenders.
- Establish procure-to-pay, vendor management, billing, cash collection, and revenue processes, including insurance/TPA and government scheme workflows.
- Support tariff and package pricing, service costing, and doctor professional fee structures.
- Coordinate finance-related go-live requirements and commissioning activities with the Transition Manager and Camomile team.
Accounting, Compliance and Reporting
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow, taxation, inventory accounting, and year-end/statutory accounts.
- Ensure timely statutory compliance, including GST, TDS, PF/ESI and other applicable filings,
and coordinate statutory/internal audits.
- Maintain financial controls, fixed asset registers, equipment capitalisation, cash controls, and revenue-leakage monitoring.
Financial Planning and Revenue Cycle
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial performance monitoring, cost optimisation, and management reporting, including department profitability, occupancy, and ARPOB.
- Oversee billing and revenue cycle management, including claims, collections, receivables ageing, denial management, and doctor payouts.
- Lead the finance team and work with hospital leadership, department heads, promoters, investors, and lenders on financial planning and decision-making.
Key Skills
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and verbal skills in Tamil
- Advanced computer skills, Strong analytical skills and valuable working knowledge of Indian taxation laws and statutory compliance
- Working knowledge of hospital accounting and billing, including OP/IP billing, TPA/insurance claims, and pharmacy and inventory accounting
Qualifications & Experience
- Masters’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field from a recognized institute in India
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or equivalent) will be an added advantage
- 6+ years of experience in accounts and finance, including a supervisory role and at least 2 years in a 150+ bedded hospital setting
- Experience in hospital accounting, including billing and revenue cycle, TPA/insurance claims, and pharmacy and inventory accounting
