Job Purpose
The GM (Technical) / Plant Head will be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership to the pharmaceutical formulation facility, ensuring smooth manufacturing operations, effective problem-solving, regulatory compliance, implementation of systems, and continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Technical & Process Problem Solving
- Act as the primary technical problem solver for formulation and manufacturing-related issues.
- Identify root causes of process, product, equipment, and manufacturing problems and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide technical guidance to Production, QA, QC, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Production & Plant Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing facility.
- Ensure production activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with approved procedures and GMP requirements.
- Monitor production performance, productivity, yield, downtime, and overall plant efficiency.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely achievement of production targets.
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Ensure effective implementation and adherence to existing systems, SOPs, procedures, and GMP practices.
- Develop and implement new systems, procedures, and processes wherever required.
- Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, cost optimization, and productivity enhancement.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance of all systems implemented at the plant.
- Quality & Compliance
- Work closely with QA/QC to ensure compliance with applicable GMP, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Support investigation of deviations, OOS/OOT, CAPA, change controls, and other quality-related matters.
- Ensure manufacturing operations remain inspection-ready at all times.
- Regulatory & Commercial Inspections
- Handle and coordinate regulatory, statutory, customer, and commercial inspections/audits.
- Lead plant preparation for inspections and ensure timely closure of observations and commitments.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, Production, Engineering, and other departments during inspections.
- Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and mentor cross-functional plant teams.
- Develop technical and managerial capabilities of departmental heads and key personnel.
- Promote a culture of discipline, accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Management, Production, QA, QC, Engineering, Supply Chain, PPIC, and other functions for smooth plant operations.
- Ensure effective communication and timely resolution of operational and technical issues.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Significant experience in Production,
Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or technical operations in a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing facility.
- Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing and plant operations.
- Must have experience working in a 24×7×365 pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Should possess strong technical problem-solving, troubleshooting, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Experience in handling regulatory, statutory, customer, and commercial inspections/audits will be highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GMP, SOPs, CAPA, deviations, change control, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Should be capable of managing cross-functional teams and taking ownership of plant-level operational and technical matters.
- Willingness to reside in bachelor accommodation within the company premises/compound is required.
- Candidates who have demonstrated experience in system implementation, process improvement, and operational excellence will be preferred.

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
