Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of equipment used in the car assembly shop. The role involves preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of conveyors, filling machine, battery tools, DC tools, Electrical power & control system and other assembly-line equipment to ensure zero downtime and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Develop and execute PM schedules for equipment such as skillet, slat conveyors, Power and free conveyor, lifters, turntables, Scissor lift, RGV, AGV, RBT, WAM etc.

Use condition monitoring tools to predict equipment failure.

Maintain historical data and maintenance records for audit and analysis.

2. Breakdown Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Rapid fault diagnosis and repair during mechanical breakdowns of Conveyor drives, chain systems, gearboxes, Hydraulic and pneumatic tools.

Coordinate with electrical/automation teams during mechatronic issues.

3. Equipment Installation & Commissioning

Participate in current equipment installation, line modification, or model changeover activities.





Validate electrical installation drawings, layouts, and utility requirements.

Supervise vendor commissioning and ensure machine readiness as per plan.

4. Spare Parts Management

Identify and maintain critical spares inventory.

Optimize spare part usage through root cause analysis of recurring failures.

5. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain equipment history, preventive maintenance checklists, and downtime logs.

Comply with IATF 16949, ISO 45001, and plant safety protocols.

6. Continuous Improvement

Drive initiatives like OEE improvement, MTBF/MTTR tracking, and Kaizen projects.

Support energy-saving and cost-reduction projects.

7. Safety and Training

Ensure LOTO, PPE usage, and adherence to safety norms during all maintenance activities.

Conduct skill development and OJT for operators and junior technicians.

Key Equipment Exposure

Power & Free conveyors, slat conveyors, lifts & turntables

Torque tools (DC/Nut runners)

Electrical power & control systems

Filling machine, Roll Break & Test, Wheel alignment, Shower etc.

Robotic (for electrically assisted tasks)

Technical Skills

Electrica system diagnostics and maintenance

Basic understanding of PLCs and automation interfaces

CMMS & SAP system

Qualifications

Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Atleast 6+ years of experience in automotive assembly line maintenance (depending on level)

Pay: Up to ₹1,110,563.24 per year
