Factory Project Manager – New Factory Setup

About the Role

We are setting up a new modern silver jewellery manufacturing factory in Jodhpur and are looking for an experienced Factory Project Manager who can independently manage and coordinate the complete factory setup from planning to final handover.

The candidate will work directly with management and will be responsible for coordinating architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, machinery suppliers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Take complete ownership of the factory setup project

* Prepare and maintain project timelines, milestones and action plans

* Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, HVAC and other consultants

* Manage and coordinate civil, electrical, plumbing, flooring, interiors and other contractors

* Monitor daily site progress and ensure work is progressing as per schedule

* Coordinate manpower, materials and site requirements with contractors

* Coordinate machinery procurement, delivery, installation and commissioning

* Prepare and track BOQ, quotations and work orders

* Compare vendor/contractor quotations and coordinate commercial negotiations

* Monitor project budget and Budget vs Actual Cost

* Control additional work, variations and unnecessary project expenditure

* Verify work completion before contractor bills are submitted for payment

* Coordinate with the Project Accountant for billing and payment processes

* Maintain vendor/contractor performance and payment trackers

* Identify project delays, risks and bottlenecks and take corrective action

* Conduct regular project review meetings with contractors and consultants

* Prepare weekly/monthly project progress reports for management

* Maintain complete project documentation

* Coordinate factory infrastructure requirements such as power, water, HVAC, networking, security and other utilities





* Coordinate installation and commissioning of factory machinery

* Prepare punch-list/snag list and ensure closure before handover

* Coordinate final testing, commissioning and factory handover

* Ensure the factory is ready for production as per the planned launch date

Advanced Excel / Reporting

Candidate should have robust Advanced Excel skills and be able to independently prepare:

* Project Master Tracker

* Gantt Chart

* Milestone Tracker

* Contractor Tracker

* Procurement Tracker

* Machinery Installation Tracker

* Budget vs Actual

* Project Cost Sheet

* Pending Work Tracker

* Daily/Weekly Progress MIS

Power BI / Power Query / MS Project / Primavera knowledge will be an advantage.

Required Experience

Preference will be given to candidates who have previously handled:

* New factory/plant setup

* Industrial construction projects

* Manufacturing facilities

* Civil + MEP coordination

* Machinery installation

* Multiple contractor management

* Factory commissioning and handover

Candidate Profile

* Can independently drive a project from start to finish

* Is comfortable working at the site

* Is highly organised and documentation-oriented

* Can identify problems early and escalate them to management

* Has strong communication and negotiation skills

* Is comfortable working with senior management

Qualification

B.Tech / Diploma in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / MBA Project Management or relevant equivalent experience.

5–10 years relevant experience preferred.

Important

This is not an office-only reporting role. The candidate will be expected to regularly visit the factory site, coordinate with contractors and vendors, monitor progress and take ownership of getting the project completed on time.
