Urgent Job Opening for Fabric Lab Technician in Tiruppur

• Position Name : Fabric Lab Technician

• Qualification : Diploma / ITI / B.Sc. / Diploma in Textile Technology

• Experience : 10 yrs

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine physical and dimensional tests on fabrics.
- Check GSM, width, shrinkage, color fastness, pilling, spirality/skewness, bursting strength and other applicable parameters.
- Receive and verify fabric samples against the required style/order.
- Prepare fabric kitting as per style, color, lot, shade and quantity requirements.
- Ensure correct fabric and shade are selected for testing/production.
- Maintain proper sample identification, tagging and traceability.
- Coordinate with Fabric, Dyeing, Production and Quality teams for sample requirements.
- Basic to valuable knowledge of the fabric dyeing process from preparation to finishing.
- Understand basic dyeing parameters such as temperature, time, pH, chemical dosage, liquor ratio and shade matching.
- Assist in identifying reasons for shade variation, uneven dyeing, staining and other dyeing defects.
- Inspect fabric for defects and quality issues.
- Identify common defects such as: shade varidation , Streaks , Spots , Holes, Slubs, Crease marks, uneven dyeing & Width Variation




- Follow approved quality standards and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams for corrective action.
- Ensure laboratory instruments are clean and calibrated as required.
- Follow standard testing procedures and safety requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for each fabric lot/sample.

Required Knowledge & Skills

- Good knowledge of fabric construction and textile materials.
- Knowledge of knitted/woven fabric testing will be an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of dyeing and finishing processes.
- Good understanding of fabric quality parameters.
- Ability to identify fabric and dyeing defects.
- Basic knowledge of textile testing standards and procedures.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining test records.
- Good observation and analytical skills.
- Ability to coordinate with Fabric, Dyeing, Production and Quality teams.

Qualification

Diploma / ITI / B.Sc. / Diploma in Textile Technology or equivalent qualification in Textile/Fabric/Dyeing.

Preferred Experience

Candidate Profile

The candidate should have hands-on experience in fabric laboratory testing and quality inspection, with practical knowledge of fabric kitting and dyeing processes. The person should be capable of identifying fabric quality issues, understanding test results, and coordinating with production teams for corrective action.
