We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Oral Placement Therapist (OPT) to join our pediatric rehabilitation team. The therapist will be responsible for assessing and providing therapeutic interventions for children with oral-motor, feeding, swallowing, speech-related, and related functional difficulties.
The role involves working closely with children, parents/caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized intervention plans and support functional improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive assessment of oral-motor, feeding, and related functional skills in pediatric clients.
• Identify difficulties related to oral-motor control, chewing, biting, swallowing, feeding, and oral sensory-motor functions.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on the child's clinical needs.
• Provide Oral Placement Therapy and related oral-motor interventions within the therapist's scope of practice and training.
• Work with children presenting with developmental delays, neurological conditions, developmental disabilities, and other pediatric conditions affecting oral functions.
• Address appropriate areas such as:
• Jaw stability and control
• Lip closure and movement
• Tongue movement and coordination
• Chewing and biting skills
• Oral sensory awareness
• Feeding readiness and functional feeding skills
• Oral-motor coordination
Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Relevant certification/training in Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) is required.
• Additional training in pediatric feeding, oral-motor therapy, sensory integration, or related areas will be an advantage.
