?We're Hiring: Embedded Software Engineer - Computer Vision
?Location: Hubli, Karnataka
Experience: 2+ years
Domain: Embedded Linux | Computer Vision | Real-time Video
❗Freshers are not eligible.
❗Candidates must be willing to relocate.
About this role
You will own the software that takes video from day and thermal cameras on a remotely operated, stabilised platform and delivers it to the operator's handheld console. That covers low-latency video, target tracking, on-screen overlays and the operator interface.
This is not an app-development or IT role. Your software runs on embedded Linux hardware deployed in the field.
What you'll be doing
• Build low-latency video pipelines for day and thermal cameras on embedded Linux
• Implement and optimise object detection and tracking on edge compute platforms
• Develop the operator console: live video, on-screen overlays, menus and system settings
• Integrate range sensors, IMU and other sensors into the software stack
• Build the wired and wireless data and video link between the platform and the console
• Send tracking outputs to the motion controller with minimal latency
• Implement camera calibration and alignment routines
• Take part in system bring-up, field testing, debugging and performance tuning
Mandatory skills and experience
• 2+ years of hands-on embedded software development
• Strong C/C++ (Python is a plus, not a replacement)
• Embedded Linux at device level, not desktop applications
• OpenCV, classical tracking and DNN-based detection, deployed with TensorRT or ONNX Runtime
• GStreamer or V4L2 video pipelines, with H.264/H.265 encoding
• Camera interfaces such as MIPI CSI, USB, GigE or SDI
• Understanding of real-time constraints, threading, latency and performance optimisation
• UI development with Qt/QML or similar
Positive to have
• Experience with thermal cameras
• NVIDIA Jetson or similar edge platforms
• Yocto or Buildroot
Why join us
• Work on real defence hardware that goes to field trials, not demos o
