Detailed Job Description:

BGP & Routing Protocols
• Demonstrates expertise in configuring and managing eBGP peering sessions end-to-end, including session establishment, prefix advertisement, and neighbour management on edge routers.
• Implements and maintains route filtering using prefix-lists,



route-maps, and AS-PATH filters to ensure only authorised prefixes are accepted and advertised.
• Manages IRR (Internet Routing Registry) objects and RPKI/ROA validation to maintain routing hygiene and prevent route hijacking/leaks.
• Configures max-prefix limits, MD5 authentication, and BFD for reliable and secure peering sessions.
• Uses BGP communities (standard, extended, large) for traffic engineering, controlling inbound/outbound traffic flow, and signalling peer preferences.
• Has working knowledge of IS-IS as an interior gateway protocol and MPLS for backbone/edge transport

Layer 1 Physical & Optical
• Proficient in Fiber-optic technology including single-mode (SMF) and multi-mode (MMF) fiber, connector types (LC, SC, MPO/MTP), and cable management.
• Hands-on experience with optical transceivers SFP+ (10G), SFP28 (25G), QSFP28 (100G), QSFP-DD (400G) — including SR, LR, ER,
