Key Responsibilities:
New Customer Acquisition (Hunting): Identify, map, and target prospective pharmaceutical formulation manufacturers (SMEs to large enterprises) across assigned domestic zones.
Lead Generation & Conversion: Proactively generate leads, secure high-level decision-maker meetings, and drive current customer conversion for our commercial API portfolio and intermediates.
Technical & Value Pitching: Leverage deep internal medico-marketing and scientific data to present complex technical portfolios (including specialized chelates, amino acid complexes, and custom APIs).
Product Positioning: Effectively communicate product stability, impurity profiles, cost-efficiencies, and scale-up reliability.
Regulatory & QA Coordination: Coordinate closely with Internal Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to provide Drug Master Files (DMFs), CoAs, stability data, and pharmacopeial compliance documentation to prospective clients.
Commercial Execution: Ensure flawless execution of initial trial orders,
commercial negotiations, and supply terms.
Account Transition: Conduct a structured account handover to the Key Account Management (KAM) team once regular supply orders are established.
Market Intelligence & Forecasting: Track competitor pricing, domestic API trends, and changing regulatory norms across Indian state markets.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry or Life Sciences) with an MBA in Marketing or International Business.
Experience: 9+ years of proven B2B business development / sales experience specifically in the Indian domestic API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) market.
Core Competencies: Strong hunter mindset, excellent negotiation skills, robust technical aptitude regarding API synthesis/regulatory documentation, and willingness to travel extensively.
