Role Description:

The Court Lab is hiring two full-time Legal Associates for its Department of Trade Marks Practice, based on-site in Mumbai. In this role, Legal Associates will handle day-to-day trademark matters, including conducting trademark searches, drafting and filing applications, preparing responses to examination reports, and managing oppositions and rectifications. They will assist in legal research on trademark and related IP issues, support strategy development for client portfolios, and help maintain accurate case records and timelines.



Associates will also communicate with clients regarding case status and requirements, coordinate with officials and external stakeholders as needed, and contribute to internal knowledge-building and process improvement.

Qualifications:
• Strong foundation in intellectual property law, particularly trade mark law, with the ability to apply legal principles to practical case work.
• 1-2 PQE or training in legal research and drafting, including preparing opinions, pleadings, and responses to trademark office actions.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, organize documentation, track deadlines, and maintain precise case files.
• Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B. or equivalent); enrollment with a Bar Council is preferred.
• Prior exposure to trademark prosecution or IP practice through internships or work experience is an advantage.
