Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Ophthalmologist role based in the Kanyakumari district. The Ophthalmologist will provide comprehensive eye care, including outpatient consultations, detailed eye examinations, diagnosis, and management of ocular conditions. Daily responsibilities include performing procedures and surgeries as indicated, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing treatments, and ensuring proper follow-up and continuity of care.



The role involves participation in inpatient care and emergency services when required, collaborating with other medical specialties, and contributing to clinical protocols and quality standards. In the medical college setting, the Ophthalmologist may also teach and mentor students and trainees, support academic activities, and participate in departmental meetings and case discussions.
Qualifications

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent), with valid medical council registration.
• Robust clinical skills in diagnosing and managing common and complex ophthalmic conditions, including proficiency in slit lamp examination and fundoscopy.
• Competence in performing routine ophthalmic procedures and surgeries (e.g., cataract surgery), with adherence to safe surgical practices and infection control.
