Key Responsibilities
• System Design: Develop detailed layouts for ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
• Load Calculations: Compute heating and cooling loads to ensure proper system sizing and energy efficiency.
• Equipment Selection: Choose optimal chillers, air handling units, and fans based on project needs and budgets.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all designs follow safety rules and local building standards.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to integrate mechanical plans.
Required Skills And Software
• AutoCAD & Revit:
Use computer-aided design tools to draft precise 2D and 3D schematics.
• Calculation Tools: Run programs like HAP or Hevacomp for thermal load analysis.
• BIM Knowledge: Apply Building Information Modeling for up-to-date construction coordination.
• Technical Writing: Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), technical reports, and tender documents
• Qualifications
• Education: Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or building services engineering.
• Experience: Bring 3 to 5 years of practical background in mechanical design or consulting.
