Key Responsibilities
- Discover and inventory all on-premise data consumers, including reports, downstream applications, BI pipelines, and business teams.
- Map end-to-end data lineage from source systems through transformations to consumption points.
- Validate actual data usage patterns to distinguish active dependencies from obsolete ones, informing migration and decommissioning decisions.
- Analyze query and access logs to quantify usage frequency, criticality, and performance requirements.
- Coordinate across technical and business teams to confirm requirements, resolve ambiguities, and prioritize migration waves.
- Document findings in clear, actionable artifacts (dependency maps, consumer catalogs, risk registers) for engineering and stakeholder teams.
- Automate discovery and analysis workflows to accelerate the mapping process and improve accuracy.
- Support migration planning by flagging risks, gaps, and impact areas before cutover.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with data lakes, data warehouses,
and complex data migration projects.
- Robust understanding of both RDBMS and NoSQL databases, with advanced SQL querying skills.
- Hands-on proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (Python preferred).
- Practical cloud platform experience, with an emphasis on Amazon S3.
- Demonstrated hands-on automation experience (scripting, pipelines, or tooling).
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving attitude, and analytical aptitude to interface effectively with diverse technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications (Pluses)
- Experience building or leveraging AI agents for workflow automation.
- Active AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
