We are looking for an experienced Manager / Sr. Manager Front Axle Design to join the R&D; Engineering team of a leading commercial vehicle organization. The role will be part of the Engineering Shared Services supporting global projects and will involve regular interaction with international engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of Front Axle and Steering systems for commercial vehicles.
- Perform 3D modelling and 2D detailing using UG NX / Siemens NX.
- Drive design, development, validation and engineering release of automotive components.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Testing and Suppliers.
- Support new product development (NPD) and engineering changes.
- Prepare and review DFMEA, DVP&R; and design documentation.
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques for design and product-related issues.
- Coordinate with global engineering teams and participate in technical discussions and design reviews.
- Prepare technical presentations and effectively communicate design concepts, issues and solutions.
- Support design for manufacturing (DFM) and understand manufacturing feasibility.
- Evaluate and apply knowledge of automotive materials including castings, forgings, rubber, plastics and other engineering materials.
- Work with manufacturing teams on Front Axle / Steering manufacturing processes and technologies.
Candidate Profile
- Robust experience in Automotive Design & Development, preferably in Commercial Vehicles / CV domain.
- Hands-on experience in UG NX / Siemens NX – 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
- Good understanding of Front Axle / Steering systems.
- Knowledge of automotive materials, manufacturing processes and component design.
- Experience in product design, development, validation and engineering release.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R; and automotive design processes.
- Good analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable working with global engineering / cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with international stakeholders will be an advantage.
