Responsibility Areas
KRAs
Manage end-to-end international procurement of chemicals from manufacturers and suppliers across China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Europe, the Middle East and
other relevant global markets.
Identify, evaluate and develop reliable overseas manufacturers and suppliers for existing products, new products and strategic sourcing opportunities.
Understand product specifications, grades, applications, packing requirements, lead times and commercial suitability before finalizing purchase decisions.
Develop alternate sources for critical and high-volume chemicals to improve availability, pricing and supply continuity.
1. International Chemical Procurement
Build and maintain long-term relationships with overseas chemical manufacturers, exporters and trading partners.
Negotiate FOB, CFR, CIF, EXW and other applicable Incoterms along with price, MOQ, payment terms, credit terms, packing, lead time and shipment schedules.
Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers and negotiate competitive commercial terms aligned with LOK Chemicals' business requirements.
2. Supplier Development & Commercial
Negotiation
Evaluate supplier capability, reliability, quality, documentation, capacity and delivery performance before and after onboarding.
Continuously develop new supplier options and maintain a strong international sourcing pipeline.
Coordinate with Sales, Business Development, Inventory, Warehouse and Finance teams to understand product requirements, demand and stock position.
Plan purchase quantities and timing based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, market demand, supplier lead times and working-capital considerations.
Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing stock-outs, excess inventory and blocked working capital.
3. Purchase Planning & Inventory
Management
Monitor open purchase orders, supplier confirmations, production status and shipment commitments and ensure timely follow-up.
Align procurement planning with expected customer requirements and product availability for pan-India sales.
Coordinate with Logistics / Import teams for international shipments from supplier confirmation through shipment, customs clearance and warehouse receipt.
Have practical working knowledge of LC, TT, advance payment, credit terms, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, COA, MSDS/SDS, commercial invoice, packing list and other
import documentation.
4. Import & International Trade Coordination
Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA / customs agents, shipping lines and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely import execution.
Monitor shipment schedules, ETA, port clearance, customs processes and final delivery to warehouse.
Track freight, customs duties, port charges, clearance charges, inland transportation and other import-related costs.
Maintain strong practical knowledge of commodity chemicals, solvents, specialty chemicals, polymers & resins, chemical intermediates, additives and industrial raw
materials.
Working knowledge of products such as Acrylic Acid, Aniline, MEA, DEA, TETA/TEPA, Phenol,



Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide, Glycerine, Formic Acid, Hydrogen
Peroxide, solvents, polymers/resins and similar industrial chemicals will be an advantage.
5. Chemical & Technical Product Knowledge
Coordinate with Quality / Technical teams where required to validate specifications, product suitability and supplier documentation.
Calculate and compare total landed cost of imported chemicals, considering supplier price, freight, duties, port charges, clearance and inland logistics.
Analyse international supplier quotations and freight costs to support commercially sound purchase decisions.
6. Landed Cost, Pricing & Commercial
Management
Monitor international chemical prices, freight movements, currency impact and relevant market trends affecting procurement costs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiation, alternate sourcing, shipment planning, freight optimization and commercial terms.
Maintain accurate purchase price history, supplier comparisons and procurement records for management decision-making.
Work closely with Sales, Business Development, Inventory / Warehouse, Logistics & Import, Finance & Accounts, Quality / Technical and Management teams.
Ensure smooth coordination from purchase requirement supplier conrmaon shipment import clearance warehouse receipt product availability for
domestic sales.
7. Cross-Functional Procurement Execution
Ensure procurement commitments are aligned with customer requirements, inventory capacity, credit terms, working capital and operational feasibility.

Resolve supplier, quality, documentation, shipment, delivery and commercial issues in coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Track international chemical market trends, supplier movements, product availability, pricing, freight trends and supply conditions.
Identify new sourcing countries, manufacturers, suppliers and products relevant to LOK Chemicals' growth plans.
8. Market Intelligence & Alternate Sourcing
Develop alternate sources for critical products and reduce dependency on single suppliers or markets.
Provide the Managing Director with timely market intelligence, sourcing options, price movements and commercial recommendations.
Monitor supplier performance against agreed quality, price, documentation, production, lead-time and delivery commitments.
Maintain supplier evaluation records and identify corrective actions for recurring quality, documentation or delivery issues.
Assess supply risks and proactively develop alternate sourcing and contingency plans for critical products.
9. Supplier Performance, Quality & Risk
Management
Ensure supplier documents, commercial terms, product specifications and performance history are properly maintained.
Maintain accurate procurement MIS covering purchase orders, suppliers, prices, open orders, shipments, landed costs, product availability and supplier performance.
Provide regular procurement updates to the Managing Director covering purchase pipeline,



cost savings, supplier development, import status, inventory risks and key
actions.
10. Procurement MIS & Management
Reporting
Use MS Excel, ERP / procurement systems and data analysis to support purchasing decisions and management reporting.
Escalate critical supply, pricing, quality, shipment and commercial issues with practical recommendations and action plans.

Strong practical experience in international procurement / import of chemicals, chemical trading and global supplier sourcing.
Strong understanding of commodity chemicals, solvents, specialty chemicals, polymers & resins, intermediates, additives and industrial raw materials.
Strong knowledge of international procurement, Incoterms including FOB, CFR, CIF and EXW, import documentation, shipping and landed-cost calculation.
Strong commercial and analytical capability to compare supplier quotations, negotiate prices and identify procurement cost-saving opportunities.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP / procurement systems and procurement MIS.
Technical / Business Competencies
Strong negotiation, supplier-management, communication, coordination and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Hands-on, commercially driven and detail-oriented, with strong ownership for procurement execution and supply continuity.
Ability to independently manage multiple suppliers, products, purchase requirements and international shipments.
Leadership Competencies
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field. Relevant chemical / technical
background preferred.

Industry Experience
5+ years of relevant experience in Procurement / Purchase / International Sourcing, with strong and proven experience in chemical procurement / import.
Solid experience dealing with overseas chemical manufacturers / suppliers, particularly across China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and other international markets.
Experience in chemical trading companies, chemical importers / distributors, chemical manufacturers, specialty chemical companies, petrochemical / polymer companies
or industrial raw-material trading companies preferred.
Supplier Network
Existing network of international chemical manufacturers / suppliers, especially in China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, will be an advantage.
Mumbai-based candidates preferred. Candidates must be willing to work from the Mumbai office.
Monday to Saturday 6 days a week.
