Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers in enterprise environments.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or other Linux distributions.
- Perform OS installation, upgrades, patching, and security remediation.
- Handle user and group administration, permissions, sudo access, and file-system management.
- Monitor server health, CPU, memory, disk utilization, and overall system performance.
- Troubleshoot Linux OS, application, storage, network connectivity, and performance issues.
- Manage LVM, file systems, disk partitions, mounts, and storage capacity.
- Configure and troubleshoot Linux services, processes, and scheduled jobs.
- Work with SSH, DNS, NFS, TCP/IP, and other Linux/networking services.
- Perform server builds, configuration changes,
and decommissioning activities.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
- Perform log analysis and root cause analysis for critical incidents.
- Create and maintain Shell/Bash scripts for routine administration and automation.
- Work closely with application, database, network, storage, VMware, and security teams.
- Handle incidents, service requests, problem management, and change activities.
- Provide support for production Linux environments and participate in 24x7/on-call support as required.
- Maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
