AkzoNobels Technology Integration Team is looking for a Technical Lead Color Components to lead the technical delivery and lifecycle management of reusable technology components such as .NET libraries, NuGet packages, APIs and services.
The role combines hands-on software engineering leadership, people management, architecture, component lifecycle management and Agile/Scrum delivery. The person will lead and coach Component Engineers while ensuring that components are scalable, reusable, well-documented, secure and production-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of Component Engineers and manage their performance and development.
- Own the lifecycle of reusable software components, APIs, services and NuGet packages.
- Define standards for versioning, backward compatibility, release management and documentation.
- Provide technical leadership on architecture, API/service design and integration patterns.
- Drive code quality, automated testing, CI/CD and security practices.
- Work closely with Product Owners to convert requirements into technically executable backlog items.
- Plan capacity, allocate work and manage technical delivery commitments.
- Coordinate release readiness and ensure operational readiness of services.
- Collaborate with R&D; teams to translate scientific requirements into engineering specifications.
- Work with internal/external engineering teams and technology partners.
- Drive technical debt remediation, dependency upgrades and continuous improvement.
6 to 8+ years of production-grade software engineering experience in a .NET/service-oriented environment, including:
- Experience leading and coaching software engineers.
- Experience with people/line management.
- Experience establishing engineering standards.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience managing reusable software components and their lifecycle.
- Experience with versioning, backward compatibility and release management.
Looking for someone who is essentially a Senior .NET Technical Lead / Engineering Lead who has moved beyond pure feature development and has experience owning reusable platforms/components and leading engineers.
