Job Title: Junior SharePoint Online / On-Prem & Microsoft Teams Administrator
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint Online
- Assist with the creation and management of SharePoint sites, document libraries, lists, and permissions.
- Support end users with issues related to access, document management, and sharing.
- Help maintain OneDrive for Business settings and troubleshoot sync issues.
- Monitor storage usage and site/activity reports.
- Work with senior administrators on basic configurations, including content types, metadata, and basic retention settings.
SharePoint On-Premises 2016/2019/Subscription Edition
- Perform basic site and permission management using Central Administration or delegated tools.
- Assist with routine operational tasks such as checking service health, verifying scheduled jobs, and reviewing logs.
- Support senior administrators during maintenance windows, patching, and farm updates.
- Learn to review ULS logs and troubleshoot common access- or search-related issues.
Microsoft Teams
- Help provision Teams and channels and manage membership requests.
- Support users with Teams meeting issues, channels, file access, and cross-application integrations.
- Monitor Teams activity and assist with policy updates under senior guidance.
- Assist with guest access requests and help ensure appropriate security controls are followed.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Follow established governance processes for site creation, permissions, and Teams lifecycle management.
- Assist with reviews of external sharing, guest access, and group memberships.
- Support the implementation of retention labels, DLP alerts, sensitivity labels, and other general compliance activities under supervision.
Automation & Reporting
- Run existing PowerShell scripts for routine tasks such as health checks, permissions reviews, and provisioning.
- Assist in creating simple reports on usage, storage,
and activity using Microsoft 365 admin center tools.
- Develop PowerShell skills to automate repetitive administrative tasks over time.
Support & Operations
- Serve as a Tier 1/Tier 2 support resource for SharePoint and Microsoft Teams issues.
- Troubleshoot permissions, synchronization issues, and user access problems.
- Update documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
- Work with senior administrators on escalations and more complex incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration or relevant internship/technical support experience.
- Basic understanding of:
- SharePoint Online concepts, including sites, libraries, and permissions.
- Microsoft Teams structure, including teams, channels, meetings, and policies.
- Microsoft Entra ID concepts, including users and groups.
- Foundational PowerShell knowledge, including running scripts and creating simple commands.
- Robust troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn SharePoint On-Premises fundamentals and Microsoft 365 governance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SharePoint On-Premises environments.
- Basic experience with Power Automate and simple flows.
- Familiarity with OneDrive synchronization behavior and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 administration or support environments.
Preferred Certifications
Certifications are preferred but not required:
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
- Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700)
- Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
