Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality across all stages of manufacturing through inspections, data analysis, root cause identification, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. The role focuses on minimizing defects, improving processes, and maintaining compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

- In-Process Quality Control: Conduct stage-wise inspections and verify product quality against drawings, SOPs, and standards.
- Incoming Final Inspection: Perform IQC and final inspections (PDIR) to ensure only conforming products are accepted and dispatched.
- Rejection Monitoring (Red Bin): Track daily rejection, analyze defects, and drive cost reduction through scrap and rework control.
- Root Cause Analysis CAPA: Investigate quality issues using 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto. Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Shop Floor Quality Management: Identify problem areas, coordinate with production/maintenance teams, and ensure issue resolution.
- MIS Reporting: Maintain daily quality data and prepare reports on rejection, rework, and performance trends.
- Inspection Documentation: Maintain records for casting, machining, painting, assembly, testing, and packing inspections.
- Supplier Quality (IQC): Verify incoming materials and coordinate with vendors for quality improvements.
- Audits Customer Complaints:



Support internal audits, maintain complaint records, and ensure timely closure through CAPA.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce defects, improve productivity, and achieve zero-defect goals.

Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech - Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in Years: 2-3 years
- Industry Specific: Relevant experience as per JD needed, industry specific experience is plus

Required Skills

- Knowledge of quality tools: 7 QC Tools, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan
- Expertise in root cause analysis techniques (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GDT
- Knowledge of casting, machining, painting, assembly, and inspection processes
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.)
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
