Role Description The Deputy Librarian is a full-time, on-site role based in Nagpur, responsible for supporting the overall planning, coordination, and delivery of library services. Day-to-day tasks include managing circulation and reference services, organizing collections, overseeing cataloging and metadata activities, and ensuring accurate classification of resources. The role involves supervising library staff, assisting with library instruction sessions, and collaborating with faculty to integrate information literacy into academic programs. The Deputy Librarian will help develop policies,



maintain library systems, support users with research inquiries, and contribute to continuous improvement of library operations and user experience.
Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Library Science, with practical experience in Library Management and Library Services.
- Knowledge of cataloging standards, Metadata practices, and resource organization in academic libraries.
- Experience in Library Instruction, user education, and supporting information literacy initiatives.
- Advanced degrees such as M.Lib, M.A, M.Phil in Library Science or related disciplines preferred.
- Proficiency with integrated library systems, digital libraries, and basic IT tools used in library environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
