About the Role

MIT School of Engineering & Sciences at MIT Art, Design and Technology (MIT ADT) University is seeking dynamic and experienced Visiting Faculty in English . The successful candidate will teach foundational and advanced communication courses to undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate engineering students. The role focuses on professional English, technical writing, corporate communication, and soft skills needed for modern technical careers.

Key Responsibilities

- Academic Delivery: Conduct scheduled lectures, workshops, and practical lab sessions for Professional English, Business Communication, and Technical Writing for engineering and science students.
- Curriculum & Lesson Planning: Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with AICTE and university guidelines, incorporating interactive and activity-based learning techniques.
- Student Assessment: Design assignments, mid-term/end-term question papers, presentational assessments, and grade student submissions systematically within set timelines.
- Language Lab Management: Facilitate language laboratory sessions (focusing on phonetics, listening skills, speaking proficiency, and public speaking).
- Skill Development: Mentor engineering students on resume building, group discussions, presentation techniques,



and corporate interview readiness.
- Feedback & Consultation: Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their spoken and written English skills; maintain office hours for student queries.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

Education:

- Mandatory: Master’s degree (M.A.) in English, English Literature, Linguistics, or Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL/TEFL) from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- Preferred: Ph.D. in English / Applied Linguistics, or qualified in UGC-NET/SET.

Experience:

- 2 to 5 years of teaching experience at the university level, preferably working with engineering or technical institutes.
- Prior experience in conducting Business Communication, Technical Report Writing, or Soft Skills modules for professional degree courses.

Skills & Competencies:

- Excellent command over oral and written English.
- Strong pedagogical skills using modern teaching tools (LMS, multimedia presentations, interactive software).
- Proficiency in managing contemporary Language Laboratory software/hardware.
- High engagement skills for large undergraduate classes.

Remuneration & Engagement Terms

- Compensation: Paid on a per-lecture / hourly credit basis, as per MIT ADT University norms and candidate qualifications/experience.
- Duration: Semester-bound contract, renewable based on requirement and performance evaluation.
