Role & responsibilities

Review and interpret Radiation Oncology medical records, physician documentation,

treatment plans, and procedure reports.

- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Radiation Oncology services.
- Code radiation treatment delivery, simulation, dosimetry, treatment planning, and related

oncology procedures.
- Ensure compliance with AAPC/AHIMA coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory

requirements.
- Review NCD/LCD policies and validate medical necessity for radiation therapy services.
- Identify and resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation deficiencies.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while ensuring coding accuracy.
- Stay current with coding updates, CMS regulations, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with providers, auditors, and operational teams to resolve coding and billing

queries.

Radiation Oncology

- External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT)
- IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy)
- IGRT (Image-Guided Radiation Therapy)
- SBRT/SRS (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy / Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
- Brachytherapy
- Treatment Planning & Dosimetry
- Experience coding IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, Brachytherapy, and Treatment Planning services.
- • Knowledge of NCCI edits, CMS guidelines, and payer-specific requirements.
- • Experience with EPIC, ARIA, MOSAIQ, or other oncology EMR systems.
- • Familiarity with coding audits, compliance reviews, and denial management.
