The University Guidance Counsellor will provide comprehensive career guidance and support to students, helping them explore post-secondary education and career pathways through assessments, individual and group counselling, parent and teacher engagement, and staying current with labour market trends.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group career counselling sessions to students across grades.
- Develop and implement career development programmes, workshops, and activities.
- Conduct career interest and aptitude assessments and provide individualised interpretation and guidance.
- Research and provide up-to-date information on post-secondary education options, colleges, universities, and career paths.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate career development themes into classroom curriculum.
- Organize career fairs, industry guest speaker sessions, and career-related field visits.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with universities, colleges,
and industry organizations.
- Guide students on resume writing, interview preparation, and college and job search strategies.
- Support students exploring vocational and technical education options.
- Maintain accurate records of all student counselling interactions and progress.
- Engage parents with guidance on supporting their child's career development journey.
- Stay updated on labour market trends and post-secondary education admission requirements.
Qualification & Experience:
- Master's degree in Counselling, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Certification in Career Development is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in career counselling or a related role.
- Familiarity with career assessment tools preferred.
- Experience working in a school setting is advantageous.
